Pound some bamboo chopsticks into those holes and break them off.
You can squirt in a little white glue if you want.
You're good to go!.
@FireMonkey TY, but I don't do my own home repairs. I believe previous owners did, hence... the problem now.
I called an expensive handyman... I need one anyway for other things. $80/hour
