When I was a kid, I loved Labor Day because time and a half was $6.34/hour. Then, when starting working after college, I always hoped to work Labor Day because… we all did. Everyone in hospitals hopes to have TG or Xmas off, and time and a half was not “a thing.”

I had one job where we had holidays off and it was kinda weird.

My folks worked in hospitals so we understood, “people don’t stop being sick for holidays.” So, I told my kids the same.

Before college my father was a union

Not until this morning did I REALLY think about Labor Day and it’s importance.

Happy Labor Day, my friends. This is one of the more meaningful holidays we have in this country.

End.
