Uufft! Hard to get going just now making coffee.
☕🥱
I worked til 9 last night running new electrical in conduit with my electrician friend who showed up after his work day. Earlier in the day I cleaned up the downstairs unit for new guests and then went over and helped my other electrician buddy rewire the panel that the original "electrician" I ran off had done wrong. Now that guy's suing me for payment but both my union electrician buddies say he hasn't got a foot to stand on. So it goes. ✌️

@FireMonkey Pay him for the materials, assuming you're using things he installed (even if it was done incorrectly). At least if he takes you to small claims, you can prove to the judge that you weren't stiffing him. Take photos, make notes with a date on it about what he did or didn't do. If you can get the new electrician to make professional notes, that may also help. Just for your protection in case you need it. Keep copies of bills and proof of payment. Sorry you have this to navigate!

Yep, I paid for all materials even though it was stuff that wasn't needed. I never authorized him to purchase anything, but paid for it anyway. I paid him for labor the first time but by the time it came around again I was concerned and told him I would have it checked and back charge him. He didn't like that much, so walked.
