Well so far it's the same on ChromeOs, ChromeOs/Linux Chrome, Windows Chrome and Edge. Spinning wheel. I gave it time and came back later after site maintenance notice and tested all. No luck. Out of ideas. My Linux on Chrome won't snap install either...may have to reinstall it - there's been some other issues.
You got some over-zealous ad-blocker extensions running, or similar?

That was my thought. turned off Nord, DuckDuck, anything else I thought might bother. Just cleaned cache yesterday on my Lenovo (newest/best of 3). Rebooted all. 3 diff systems. Can't imagine it's my PR location, or provider issues.

Can you hit the option to go back to advanced mode there in the right hand nav menu - then retry going into Simplified Mode.

Yes, can do that. Most of the page elements seem 'live' but the feed won't load.

Opening simplified opens another tab, and it seems to take 4ever to load. My connection is gig fiber.
It sometimes goes to "Maint in progress.
I can post from there - but cant' get Firehose, friends, or notifications to display. Links to realms, settings, etc work.
Aha! Poirot has a lead: I picked up my Lenovo Chrome tablet and it worked...then noted that Chrome hadn't updated lately as it's not been used in a week. Updated, restarted Chrome, and now Simplified doesn't load on that one either.
I think the killer is Chrome in the Library, with the Wrench.update!

It has started working on both Chromebooks. At least partially - I now get My Friends and Notifications feeds, not Firehose. Also I do not appear to have an operable emoji button.
Tangent to that - I just noticed on the mobile app the icons on the header are swapped for the Firehose (group of people) and friends (house)
