Short answer, no states cannot secede from the republic, to paraphrase Franklin, if we can keep it.
Long answer - This is the destabilization that Russia has been working towards for the last 20 years or more. We are going to be in a period of soft Civil War, sometimes hot.
Democrats in power need to start acting like it.
@FireMonkey thank you. altho what is or is not constitutional...seems up to a kangaroo court these days. oops, i meant SCOTUS.
i just did a quick skim - there's been a lot written lately b/c of texas so there's a bit of analysis. long precedent b/c of texas v white (1869). but honestly, long held precedent doesn't seem to matter much right now. SCOTUS is re-writing the terms of the constitution, it seems.
i guess it would depend on if it was a red or blue state that wanted to secede.
