Random rant: I think it’s so stupid to have separate Medicare and Medicaid programs. Make the benefits the same and adjust the premiums people pay each month based on income. And consider adding SCHIP and all the other federal insurance programs (military, etc) into the same combined system. It would save so much programming time, staffing, and money that it probably would cover improved payments to providers. Thus ends the rant of the day.
