Bezos controls 13% of Amazon shares. Institutional investors control the majority of shares, eg, your 401K fund. He is chairman of the board but no longer CEO. He may own a good chunk of Target and Walmart and any other place you shop. He’s going to get our money one way or another, and WaPo is likely producing least profits.
Pressuring WaPo to have policies ensuring editorial independence is a more useful goal than trying to starve Jeff Bezos by losing subscribers.

Well, he's already hired someone who's more aligned with Murdoch et al than with any of the principles associated with past editors.
Do we reward that?
If nothing else, this might catch his attention for five minutes of his self-indulgent day.
