I don't get why so many GOP legislators feel they can't even serve the rest of their terms. How bad is it? Or what are they expecting to happen in their workplace in the coming months? Have they heard rumors that the "bloodbath" Trump promised may not be hyperbole?
@elbutterfield
I should think we'd be seeing more Democrats leaving if it were that, though.
@EileenKCarpenter Democrats are fighting. Repugs are figuring they didn't sign up for this.
@EileenKCarpenter Talk to Gretchen Whitmer, the Vindmans, Pelosi, and endless lists of others who have stuck it out in the face of threats and worse. They aren't going to let the brownshirts drive them out. But GQP didn't plan on it going this way. They are quitting and running. The party is in shambles.
@elbutterfield
I'm just wondering if the GOP has information about something bigger, which they haven't shared with the Democrats.
@EileenKCarpenter If you mean the "bloodbath" comment, then we all know he meant it. No surprises anymore.
@elbutterfield @EileenKCarpenter No no it was a reference to a Halloween prank in his youth, MTG said so.
@elbutterfield @EileenKCarpenter She did actually try to cover his ass but she doesn't own the Eurika tent company sooooo.
They're tired of putting up with the horsecrap. It's not what they're expecting to happen, they just expect more of the same ridiculous bullshit they've been party to for the past several years, and they've had enough of it.
Not everything is a conspiracy.
They're tired of Margarine and Boobert and Matt the Forehead and the rest of the Numbskull Caucus.
@EileenKCarpenter Here's a pretty good article on Mike Gallagher's reasons for retiring. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/mar/22/republican-house-majority-mike-gallagher
@EileenKCarpenter They are getting threatened. Their families are getting threatened.
