Parents of an unvaccinated child with measles sent that child to day care in violation of quarantine orders. I can’t even! Even if you’re a complete sociopath, kids with measles are SICK and frequently die without medical care. It’s not like chickenpox.
If you aren’t sure about your own immunity, you can get titers done. (Unlike mumps, we don’t see a lot if people who need revaccination, though.)
You need two doses of a live vaccine like MMR after age 15 months. If you were born before 1957 you are assumed to have had measles disease. Between 1962 and 1967 there was an inactive measles vaccine that doesn’t count.
