Is Asimov overrated?

@EdgeOErin a simple question with a complex answer. Of course, the short answer is yes. Not only are all of his works dated, but his stories were not very sophisticated. That said, as a teenager I gobbled them like candy. And, his nonfiction is very very good. #booklovers

@DavidKMresists Good points, David. Oftentimes, where we are in our lives (age, mindset) dictates our feelings about certain works. I wonder if I reread some of his books now (30 years on), if I would have a greater appreciation for Asimov. That said, there are so many great books out there that I probably won't re-read books/authors that didn't initially capture me #booklovers
