PSA for music creators using a Mac:
I got sick of waiting for software companies to test their stuff Mac OS updates after skipping a whole cycle and updated to Sequoia this morning.
Everything I've tried so far works great.
Pro Tools, Ableton, Logic, Universal Audio Luna, Waves, Universal Audio, Izotope, Slate, Native Instruments, all just fine ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Update:
Four days now, and nothing's crashed. On top of the stuff in the OP, I've used Soundtoys stuff, SSL, Melodyne (sparingly and tastefully, of course, and only because it was an emergency ๐ ๐). All fine.
The Waves updater is behaving a little weirdly, but I think that's just the updater because they've put out multiple updates for it in the last few days so they must know something's wrong, and the plugins that I've used have all worked with no problem ๐คทโโ๏ธ
@DyDave thanks for being the brave one :D good news! I hadn't seen the update yet for the UAD stuff so was waiting, Eventide just came through a couple days ago
The UAD is always the scariest for me because I use their Apollo interface, but it seems perfectly fine ๐
@DyDave
Good to know. Major MacOS updates usually cause headaches for #musicproduction
Yep, they scare me.
However, there's a bit of everything in my Pro Tools mixing template, and it loads and runs without a hitch, so that's usually a pretty good sign that everything's peachy.. ๐
@DyDave @voltronic amazing! ... when everything runs fine, i mean
Indeed! ๐
Especially in Pro Tools, which can be iffy at the best of times ๐
FWIW, I just finished testing all my hardware and a sample of plugins from every developer I've bought from and everything worked just fine.
