When we moved, I was thrilled I'd be able to bike to the train station three miles from my house. I bought a new bike for the occasion.

Now I know a) the road is narrow, in disrepair, and has no shoulder b) I ride into 15-20 mph winds every night c) it's facing the sun both ways and d) the hills on each side get me coming and going.

The only alt route adds 2 miles and has many of the same issues.

I've never been in so much physical pain from having my wish come true

@DanAmrich gee . . and I thought bike riding was fun . seriously though that's the kind of deal that takes getting used to , like ride for a few years to acclimate the body to the torture some claim is fun . that little seat , those unused muscles. . . . . . oi !

@moheganman I realize the only way out is through -- every tough ride I think "well, it won't get easier if I stop now." Really feeling it in the glutes! WFH tomorrow and looking forward to giving the legs a rest.

@DanAmrich you will be a better person for it ! physically and mentally.
