Check to see if your town has a trash app (ours is Cartology). Tells you what weeks, what days, holidays, types of trash collected and lets you search for specific things to see if they can go out with the bins or need to go to the landfill.
I got a happy notification yesterday that trash pickup was delayed one day due to the holiday.
