Last in the olympics may still be a far sight better than the rest of us could do. That said, the shooting style in much of the USA is not to carefully land bullets in the same spot, it's to see how many different things you can hit with 500 rounds.
@Sr0bi oh true enough. just to get to the olympics is a feat in & of itself. i would never make fun of anyone who came last in the olympics. honestly, you made it there? that's a huge achievement.

Agreed. I have a lot of heartburn with the way some view competitions. Oh you got through the conference championship but didn't win the superbowl? We need to fire that coach. What a failure! They have no idea how many factors have to align perfectly to win even the bronze.
I don't see this as a shot at the athletes, more the way the culture is presented to the rest of the world.
Akin to Norway coming in last in the biathlon (the cross country skiing and shooting one) or no Minnesotans making the curling team. 🤷

My impression of the shooting abilities of my fellow citizens is that the safest place to stand is in front of what they're shooting at if you're more than four feet away. It's just that we shoot a _lot_ of bullets, and some of them end up in people.
