She seems to want to have it both ways: they need to compete against no one but themselves, but they also need to be denied prizes for the division they're forced to compete in.
How sad is it when you feel the need to reach down from your eliteness to smack people (by name) who went out to have some fun doing a New Year's Run?
I think it's the pure malice of it all.
