I dislike pencil erasers that suck. Whoops, made an error, no big deal that’s why we chose a pencil right? Just use this trusty eraser. maybe a little more. nope. worse somehow?
Now there’s this huge smudgy deal right there on the page, when if you’d just been a cool pencil eraser we would have all been fine. But no. You had to be like this, and now we both look silly.
@InvaderGzim that’s a field that would have put in the effort finding the right kind of erasers for sure. Thanks for the tip.

Always had one available since college... Doesn't chew through paper. Only removes the graphite...

@Jezibaba my brain went to sage smudging first and it took me a moment to realize you weren’t referring to using pencils as a sage substitute.
It’s reasons like this that I need solid erasers!

@Jezibaba so they do have a purpose! I’m just not an artist so their function was just lost to me. Pencils with built in smudgers makes sense to me.
Avoid Dollar Tree pencils...

Mostly from what I've read recently... While I'm a mechanical pencil guy these days 0.7mm Pentel with the cushioned grip...
Ii just saw a report on discontinued Japanese Blackwing pencils that are being made again...
The color of the barrel denotes the hardness... Supposedly the 602 is the standard..
