@Clavius_42 they saw how the power of jeans brought down Communism in the Soviet Union and they shuddered... Oddly, it was replaced by jeans and authoritarianism, proving that NK had nothing to worry about.
To those not familiar, Alan's saucy books are quite popular with the ladies.
When awarding him an MBE in 2000, the Queen said: “You give a lot of ladies a lot of pleasure.” 😂
