I have no sympathy that Spotify is facing investor pressure after making a net loss of £367m.
The music streaming platform forgot it was a music streaming platform, followed podcast dollar signs, lured fear-factor meat-head with obscene money, and stalled the launch of the lossless music tier it was hyping. The competition capitalised.
I joined Spotify in '08. Qobuz has been my main since last year. The only time I use Spotify these days is for research or in the car.
@elmaxx Yep. in '09 I was listening to Spotify on an a Nokia E71, before there was such a thing as Android or (I think) IOS. There was nothing like it; it was a massive game-changer. Had they beaten Apple/Tidal etc at delivering lossless, I'll wager that the music streaming market would look quote different today.
