In my opinion.. Kyle Rittenhouse is no hero and open carry/self-defense does not apply to him as a line of defense. I agree with McCain in the graphic below.
Yes, he showed up hoping it would go exactly as it did.
@Old_Dave @ChippySuave
you said you sought police cuz you KNEW you did "nothing wrong". how did you know that?
were you familiar with justification for your actions? when did you become familiar with stand-your-ground laws?
can we see the search history on your devices?
@ChippySuave it was illegal for him to have that weapon he was under age which would make anything he did with illegal !Just my thoughts plus his mother should also be charged because she knew about it and did nothing!
@ChippySuave Not a hero. Just a stupid, scared kid, in the wrong place and the wrong time for the wrong reasons.
Two of the "protestors" who arrived to burn down that car repair shop were carrying handguns illegally. One of them has already been charged with firing the first shots. The second one, minus his right bicep, has already testified on the stand that he pointed his gun at Rittenhouse.
The kid didn't attack anyone. They attacked him. Which makes self-defense an absolute defense.
@Render @ChippySuave if you bring an AR 15 to a protest, you're the aggressor. He didn't own that car repair shop. He wasn't defending his property. He sought out violence.
@Render @ChippySuave if the protesters killed Rittenhouse, they'd rightly be the ones facing prison sentences. The consequences for a gun battle fall on the person who's alive to face them.
@Expecting_Words Quoting myself here, "Don't bring guns to a protest."
But what happened in Kenosha that night was not a "protest", it was a violent armed riot. And the car business that was being targeted for the 2nd straight night was minority owned.
Then read this...
@Render Some of the many things I love about you (ahem - as a big brother- ha) is that you always come with receipts for your thoughts. I never worry about having any discussion dissolve into cross words or hurt feelings (mine) from imagining an anger or yelling. I genuinely appreciate your opinion and what you have to add. I also don't feel like I have to prove myself to you.
I cannot emphasize just how important all that is to me.
🤗
@Render @Expecting_Words @ChippySuave
Granted it was an armed riot.
If the law says there is castle doctrine for businesses, that is the law—for adults who are legally permitted to do so. Wandering around to random locations is unwise and outside the bounds of reasonable défense of your property.
@_Ms_J
Wisconsin does have Castle Law for homes, businesses, and motor vehicles.
Minority owned Car Source had already had two of their three locations burned out the previous day, they asked for volunteers to protect their last location. Those locations were not random.
@Render Did KR stay at that location?
@Expecting_Words @ChippySuave
@_Ms_J He was walking back and forth between at least two of the locations.
@Render @ChippySuave reasonably, they could both claim self-defense though in that situation.
I agree his legal team will win their case.
@ChippySuave
bad law, & a bad man who sought violence, & murdered.
