per NPR: JUST IN: People who do not have direct deposit information on file with the Internal Revenue Service may have to wait up to 20 weeks to receive cash payments included in the $2 trillion coronavirus relief legislation, according to a memo drafted by House Democrats.
20 WEEKS for a measly $1200. If they don't starve first.
@misterfive Exactly!! This is all kinds of fucked up. And worse.. another thing this administration could have anticipated needing had they actually listened and learned.
@ChippySuave @misterfive This is probably intentional? If they literally starve first, no more expenses, no more „burden“ on the system. These people don’t care about lives, especially those of the poor.
Oh My God. I just can't with these people. My head and heart ache. @lovesdaryl @misterfive
@ChippySuave The depths this „administration“ sinks to are completely unfathomable. Their cruelty and malice are off any and every scale. They’re inhuman.
@misterfive
It's hard to tell which bits are intentional malice and which are merely gross incompetence. There is just too much of both.
@misterfive Spot on. And it’s disheartening, really, to imagine the level of malice required to do this intentionally - and yet ...
@ChippySuave
They were talking about a form to complete/update bank info, hopefully this could be done online (fam could help). Still wouldn't help the 'unbanked' though...
@ChippySuave
This will of course mean the people who need it most will probably be the ones waiting the longest.
