TFW you've got the overwhelms and sads so you focus what little energy you have on making life better for you and your kids, but end up ignoring your mom as a result which gives her the overwhelms and sads which makes you feel guilty and gives you more of the overwhelms and sads.
It's a vicious frickin cycle.
It sounds like it’s time for hugs all around. Hugs that linger, allow you to settle in, feel, smell, to create a little memory of closeness & appreciation. Hugs heal the overwhelm & sads.
Hugs literally nurture both participants because they trigger oxytocin, i.e., goodness in your neurotransmitters, build up your reserves, strengthen the glue that holds y’all together, & give back to you who does so much for everyone else.
