Oh, please. "The establishment" doesn't hate Bernie Sanders.

Bernie's a great cheerleader and, when necessary, a great scold. He's often a great educator. But he has chosen a path that does not and will not lead to the White House.

The POTUS gig requires great diplomacy. You can't just yell at people. It requires the ability to get things done, not just say they need to happen.

20 some years in Congress, Bernie has sponsored, co-sponsored bills other people wrote.

He voted against the ACA, saying it wasn't good enough. Though it was written to be improved upon, I would have gladly gotten behind Bernie's better bill - except that it never materialized.

Instead, the not-enough bill gave health care coverage - and through it health care - to millions who didn't have it. And under Joe Biden, that number 21 million

Action matters. Results matter. All talk matters in classrooms but not the Oval.

@JanetZumba_FalPals

Let me add that I fully recognize and respect your right to disagree with all of this. Historically, some very nice people have. πŸ˜‰

@BrazenlyLiberal
DNC had presidential candidate Bernie Sanders's name removed from my state's ballot for president.

AcA is unaffordable. Why would he vote for that? That's not "Universal Healthcare" nor is it "Medicare for All." It still makes working people pay insurance companies each paycheck for Insurance...once you "use" the ACA insurance, you pay for your doctor appointment, too!
Why would he endorse that? The USA is behind other first world countries!

@JanetZumba_FalPals

I don't know what state you're in. I do know he was removed from the New York ballot because he dropped out and endorsed Biden.

As for the ACA, it isn't universal health care and wasn't meant to be. It was meant to be the most Obama could get through Congress at the time to help the most people it could. Again I ask - where was Bernie's better bill? Where *is* his UHC bill?

ACA is far from perfect but it has done a great deal of good for a lot of folks.

@BrazenlyLiberal @JanetZumba_FalPals
I searched "Bernie Sanders universal healthcare bill" and got these results

You made it sound like he has no plan

@BrentSullivan @JanetZumba_FalPals

No I don't. I say he voted against a plan that helped many people, without which they would have been left hanging for more than a decade. Then he offered something that he knew good and well wouldn't make it through Congress, either. So without those awful Democrats pushing that horrible ACA they would *still* be shit out of luck. Or anyway those who haven't died would.

But hey, at least he gets to pretend he's doing something.

@BrentSullivan @JanetZumba_FalPals

Also worthy of note: you two are specifically talking about universal healthcare. Your links address Medicare.

Medicare is very much *not* universal health care. Medicare is not free for most things, doctors bills and meds can come to $$$$$

@BrazenlyLiberal @JanetZumba_FalPals
Incorrect
It's important to read more than the headline
The plan is to expand Medicare benefits and make all who want in eligible.

How is this different from universal healthcare.

@BrentSullivan

It's important to read more than a page that's a pitch for donations. Can I assume he's talking about S.1655, the bill that hasn't gone anywhere since it was introduced more than a year ago?

Being a gimme page, it understandably doesn't mention this bill was 13 years after the ACA. 13 years of zippo. 13 years in which all those millions of people would have gone without (that's OK- there were post offices to name and Bernie himself had excellent coverage all that time).

@BrazenlyLiberal
So first you said he had nothing, now you say there's a bill but it isn't enough, all the while reading the past and future from a crystal ball floating in a sea of sarcasm.
I think I'll take my leave now

@BrazenlyLiberal well, where is Hillary Clinton's "Healthcare Reform?" She mentioned it often back in her day.

Mr Brazenly Liberal, you and I are not going to see any common grounds here. You are even making me regret supporting Kamala now! I think it's best to stop this "discussion." You obviously cannot imagine a better scenario than what we are currently expected to be buying into.
