a youngish grandma (52) has 2 daughters.
1 kid, she has been caring for 2 rambunctious dogs for 3 yrs. this kid happens to travel a lot for her job & is away about 2-3 days midweek most weeks.
the other kid just had a baby & is returning to work soon (baby ~3 months).
grandma has chosen to quit her p/t job to care for grandbaby. during the week which means she can no longer take the dogs.
kiddo w/ the dogs is giving her mom the silent treatment & is angry as fuck.
@singlemaltgirl o crap, accidentally voted wrong, didn't catch it until too late!
It's actually unanimous π³
Well I *am* a dog person and frankly prefer the company of my dogs over some relatives.
That being said, grandma is *not* an asshole. Even if the only reason for saying no was she just didn't feel like it.
Those dogs belong to the daughter and are her responsibility. Taking any animal into a home means all sorts of serious non-negotiable obligations. It's nice if someone can help out when you need it, but to demand it like that? No.
@BrazenlyLiberal thx. that's what i was thinking. it was the entitlement and so on. honestly, she's a person not a walking caregiver whenever her children decide she needs to help them out. and she has tried to be kind to her daughters even if they don't appear to be too kind to her.
