At one time, circular economies were the way of the world. You'd buy candles made by people next door, they'd use that $ to buy a table from the guy across the road, he'd trade the money for the wine made by a family on the outskirts of the village & so on. No need for Small Business Week - all businesses were small businesses & the personal interactions strengthened local bonds.

Garage/yard sales are a callback to that time

I'm outahere - a woman on the next block is selling whatchamacallits.

@BrazenlyLiberal this is called a farmer’s or vendor’s market today.

Really? Interesting. Here they are called farmer's market if they sell food they produced themselves. Everything else is called a garage sale or yard sale.

@BrazenlyLiberal seriously, in Houston markets abound by several names. And there are estate sales and garage/yard sales. The buying never stops.

@BrazenlyLiberal I live the local honey and honey products. I’m going to join a friend’s stand and sell crafting!
