Probably both of those things are true. Other than continual faucet of crap from the GOP, it's all the same at this point. And it is stressful. But also, if not now, when?

Everyone needs to take a break from it, so they can return fresh. He's been a very consistent voice against Trump. He's surely lost books sales because of it. He didn't have to take a stand. No one would have questioned a horror writer not commenting on politics.
