Hey @Bliss where are you retiring to -- SE VT so we can hang out?
We can even watch Mets games (next season) if you wanna...
🤓 ❤️
I think Spain, So I can look up my my great great grandparents and figure out why the hell they left such a beautiful tranquil place to begin with to come tho the US.
I keep telling people I am self-deporting. Nobody thinks its funny.
no. didnt even know he had been there. should i read it? and to what end?
interesting...
my mental health will get destroyed if I stay.
Yeah, lol.
No Latin/Spanish in me.
Irish/Welsh all the way, lassie.
Aye fiddle de dee, as we say.
😆
My grand parents were a royal pain in insisting i learn spanish, practice it and speak it well. Who knew that insistence would pay off. I dont have an American accent when I speak Spanish but my son does. So we decided that as of today we will only speak in spanish to each other.
My aim is to impress them during the visa interview.
Accents are funny; no, really.
A Puertorriqueno (former) co-worker of mine laughed and said that -- when speaking Spanish -- I sound like "a Mexican from Ireland." Fair enough! The Salvadorans with whom I've spent the most time with have never complained, though. 😆
Best of luck to you (and kid) and seriously, I want pix. 😜 👍
and you will get them mid 2025 when i get there.
Nice! 👍
They have different visas.
I am going to apply via ancestry.
All of their visas have minimum financial requirements. The easiest one is the Golden Visa, for folks who have a spare million to invest in some form: stocks, bonds, cd's, property, etc.
I will be going in 2025 on a tourist visa to get copies of my ancestors documents and hire a lawyer to help me with all the paperwork.
Yeah, well...
In that case, best that I'm sticking it out in NE then.
LOL
All the best to you, in all seriousness.
Think of me and send pix, please.
❤️ 😆 😎
That book completely changed my brain.
But then again, so did "1984," "Animal Farm," etc.
And this essay --
Good essay. In those days, when it was written, psychology was not a well established science, so the mental states of "denial" and "delusion" were not part of our normal vernacular.
Interesting the similariries between then and now.
Fabulous read! Great share 👍
@InUnfunky @Bliss I'll read that when I'm awake.
@Bliss @InUnfunky is it hard to get in there?
