How does on write a script and send it off for "consideration" or whatever?

There are several screen writers here but your question is too big to tackle online.
I suggest borrowing one of these books from a library and reading it through then reaching out to ask screenwriters specific questions. That's what I did. I got one accepted long ago but eventually the deal fell through. Since I was having a difficult life-threatening pregnancy I gave up and focused on raising my family.
