The first ever exoplanet to be detected beyond the Milky Way could be located in the Whirlpool Galaxy, named M51.

@Bliss So it's the transit method but uses x-rays instead of visible light. Cool. We're about to find a lot and more exoplanets then, but we won't know very much about them.
