Code's eclectic music pick of the day is:
One warm summer night long ago, after a late college course, I was driving home and listening to an obscure station in South Texas. A song came on and it was so captivating to me that I had to pull over to give it my full attention. I sat, mesmerized, until the song ended, and then waited almost 40 minutes for the announcer to finally come back on and reveal the song name and artist. As a young jazz aficionado, I had to know. Wow! What a wonderful and inspirational story! I loved their music growing up.
Their music always put me in a happy place. I was so fascinated by the music - it always made me happy - that I too read up just a bit about him to learn of his musical background. But in the pre-internet days his early work was hard to come by. So I just enjoyed the "happy music"I could get my hands on.
@Bliss Same here, although I had not previously heard that song because it didn't normally get any airplay.
Now it's mostly about nostalgia, but I'll still put some of their stuff on when I am feeling blue or lonely. Cheers me up! 🙂
