The West never lived up to its promise of showing other nations what low corruption countries could look like. Dark money, shell companies, tax havens, bribes to foreign actors (liked paid by oil companies), and now the corrupt uses of cryptocurrency - has been green lighted by most of The West.
In hindsight, big corrupt Russia didn't have a chance to become truly free like Estonia.
