How is it as rarely as I go to the movies these days when I do the theater is nearly empty and you pick your assigned seat, and someone always picks the seat immediately next to me?
Other than the dude talking to the movie and muttering βthatβs coolβ after every trailer I liked the new ghostbusters
Woke up this morning and my big toe was hurting out of the blue and reminds me of having gout which I haven't had in a handful of years. If it still hurts in the morning I'll hit up urgent care to get some fresh meds, but the pain is pretty isolated to the top of my toe, and I attempted running yesterday. It isn't the willing to cut my toe off with a rusty, dull spoon to make it go away that I remember.
I'm 99% sure the job offer I just received is a scam. Back in Feb I applied to an IT security consultant company via their website, and the last few days I was contacted by someone allegedly doing their screening. After receiving and returning a questionnaire I was offered the job without an interview with terms that were too good to be real. I found a random person with an appropriate sounding title on LinkedIn and they are responding to my inquiry.
This is not a single incident. He blew through any good will with the team 2 days after he was hired and everyone hates him.
Been on the job hunt as a result, and fortunately someone from one of my other groups got a promotion and reached out to several people he is hoping to poach to his new team. I'm one of them.
Damn my manager is such a useless waste of space. I've never worked for someone that got upset because you see something that needs to get done and does it.
The one today is, "I want everyone to clear their task of stale tickets this is to acknowledge that you looked at them." Mine are related to delayed projects half will be done next week, other half by end of March and due to age they vanished from my queue.
Instead of using that task as my checklist he wants me to log them separately
Last week was an amazing week in Costa Rica considering it was frigid cold back home. This week I'm suffering the consequences, had a little sniffle and cough so been testing myself every day since returning and it looks like i have the souvenir covid.
Had my virtual doc appt, paxlovid is ready for pickup, but I'm not sure if I'll use it. Going through waves of stuffy head and coughing, body and head aches. Breathing fine except when my unsympathetic dog makes me take him for walks.
The annual holiday, "what are we doing for our family get-together" silent text thread.
I see my siblings and their kids often enough, but its the other two that don't because of kids and schedules, but somehow they still expect me to attend for the stuffing our faces again and sitting around watching netflix. Not doing anything meaningful again.
Also pointing this out makes me the jerk, as does saying "you guys communicate and figure something out, I end up doing it every year and am done"
Ugh, new manager is making a 5th calendar to track time on that duplicates but doesn't remove the need to use 3 other ones plus adds a level of micromanaging under the guise of "stop stolen work time". I'm not seeing a red flag, I'm seeing a red ribbon banner that stretches across the field, and I'm not the only one.
Never fails, gave managers new computers yesterday and 2 of them asked me for assistance, the 3rd was too busy. Today I WFH and the 3rd is now setting up the computer. Who do you think gets the call for help? Any of the handful of other people in the office with him who can see what he is doing, or me who is working remotely and "remote viewing isn't working" for?
IT Guy, aspiring cyber security professional, thinks I'm funnier than I probably am
