Ok so, TERMINATOR 2. wtf
so, in the time continuum, this war happens between the machines and people, and the machine send one back in time to kill Sarah Connor, who doesn’t die but T1 dies and pieces of the original Terminator stay behind - they fall into the hands of a tech company, cyber… Tech? Cyber whatever.
So BASED ON THE PARTS LEFT OVER BY THE TERMINATOR - that company develops a computer processing chip that later gets put into the machines that then revolt against the people.
SO IF THE TERMINATOR NEVER WENT BACK IN TIME TO KILL SARAH
THEIR PARTS NEVER WOULD’VE BEEN LEFT BEHIND AND their creation would never happen.
So if the Terminator 2 that adult John Connors sent back in time, to save his younger self, instead, sent it back to the terminator 1 1980’s timeframe to just kill the first Terminator, and then take all of its parts and melt it ALL DOWN - that would’ve been a much more efficient way to stop the war.
🥴
@Armchaircouch Perhaps the reason other terminators could be sent back is because the chip from the first one survived, and changed something about how quickly the machines adapted.
Maybe the "first" one isn't even the first!
@AskTheDevil @Armchaircouch
If the chip was destroyed at the end of T2 in a time *before* the machines took over, how did the machines take over?
But - John and Sarah set out to destroy anything that would lead to the creation of this chip.
Are you proposing that they destroyed the wrong stuff? lol @AskTheDevil @stueytheround
@Armchaircouch @stueytheround Yes. Which would be difficult, because it's clearly technology that can be invented, or it wouldn't have been in the first timeline, whichever that was.
I'm afraid John and Sarah will have to bomb humans back to the stone age.
