having a hurt heart, while at the same time, feeling resolved, is a very weird thing.

As a still single 43-year-old woman (last 10 years I’ve had four relationships) I think that one of the most hurtful things about starting a relationship and then having an end, is losing the person that you thought was going to be your friend.

Do men go through this? I guess it depends on who does the breaking up with who…

@Armchaircouch 💚

It's quite rare for the friendship to remain after the Demise of Everything. I think there are a bunch of reasons for that, some good, some not so good.

Here's hoping your time in sadness is brief. Whoever he is, he'll be very lucky to have you.

♥️ Yeah, true, it’s just weird human stuff I guess…
🤗 Thank you, @kel :)

@Armchaircouch sorry it hurts ❤️

Speaking as just one man, yes - loss hurts. Whether doing the breaking or accepting the breaking, one of those losses is certainly the friendship (and I’d say, one of the most fundamental losses) and for me, yeah that hurts.

♥️ thank you for sharing your perspective, this is valuable… 🤗 @Merlin

@Armchaircouch BIG ol’ bear 🐻 hugs 🫂 right back at ya, beautiful. ❤️

@Armchaircouch Yes it hurts, though I often think I feel it more as a man because I'm very empathetic and quite sensitive.

If things end because of a specific trigger I find that easier to deal with.

I guess we have that in common, then :)
And same, I think triggers that can’t be worked out are a flag, easier to walk away from, @BillyBones

@Armchaircouch I can think of worse things to have in common with someone I like 🤗

I'm sorry for what you're going through, but glad to see your strength 💜
