Friends! If you’re going to comment on the Internet about this, please 1st consider a few things.
she assaulted him. Officer knew it, her bf victim had bruises/scratches on his body. The officer chose not to arrest/charge her b/c he said it would ruin her life.
nobody likes to ruin the life of a blonde young white woman in tears.
men are victims of violence, too.
I’m not saying she deserved death
I’m saying check your biases first please

@Armchaircouch It's very much not. Violence is not okay in whichever direction it's flowing.

I’m struggling to understand why this is in the national conversation.

@misslovelymess because his parents helped him cover it up for 10 days....and its very odd

@Armchaircouch she was initially the aggressor. But he was much bigger than her, his wounds were minor, he covered for her, he could've left, then to top it off he resorted to it, took it a step further, and killed her.
This couldn't have been the first time. They both admitted to un medicated mental health issues....
Both at fault, but he didn't have to kill her, and then tried to hide it.
He deserves to burn.

Watch her facial expressions in the video. She wanted to be separated from him for the night. The question is why. I suspect she was very threatened and freaking out because of something he said or did but that she didn’t want to say it. Just wanted to be away from him for the night.

We read it all entirely differently. And that’s all good! I’m just saying. The way I read it was she was an erratic young girl who thought it’s OK to just whack on a man because you’re pissed off, he did not wanna press charges, didn’t want to make a big deal out of it, reluctantly showed his bruising, he tried to get her out of the car because she’s beating on him, there was a witness, and the police came. She cried cause she was busted. @Museek @Bemet_Or

if she was threatened and freaking out she’s not going to attack him while he’s driving tho, I speculate. That doesn’t make sense… When I was freaking out and threatened I sat as quietly as possible so the moment passes while I pray nothing bad happens. I’m not gonna physically attack my driver that was probably three times as strong as me and twice my size… @Museek @Bemet_Or

@Armchaircouch @Bemet_Or agree.. but I’m wondering what elicited such a crazy action to begin with. What was the relationship dynamic? That’ll probably come out later. there might be things in the computer that they’ll find as they investigate.

@Armchaircouch agree it goes both ways.

Yes but something is off.
I only saw the video of her crying. the officer didn’t seem to be well trained, calling her a ~flower and saying he didn’t want to ruin her life because she was physically aggressive. Well... it’s beyond ruin, now. My understanding is she was threatened by him to be left in the desert and that they put him in a room but left her to stay in the van? Often in a DV situation, the quiet ones should be observed carefully.

Ik.
I learned the hard way with law-enforcement that they are only made up of human beings, and therefore not perfect or superheroes. But! Some of them also truly are! for example all the ones that work for so long to catch people who traffic people! @Klaatu_Veratta_Nectarine @Museek

@Armchaircouch I've been assaulted before and got gaslit to hell and back over it. Can't stress this enough.
