@Minholkin For like 10 years, all I ever wanted for footwear was a pair of Doc Marten boots. I finally found one at a price that I could afford--it was marked waaay down, like 60% or something, which you never used to see on those. The reason was because they were bright purple. I bought them with the intention of eventually painting them black, but the purple actually grew on me over time. And they had steel toes, so if anyone ever made fun of them I could give them a bloody shin. ;)
They sound fabulous!!! The whole point is to be different/unique/not like the others
:D
Happy you have a pair!!!
@Minholkin Indeed, that was kind of where I ended up in my thinking. I had very customized apparel. I used fabric paint on the "nice" shirts that family gave me at Xmas and ofc safety pins on the leather jacket that was decidedly otherwise not "punk rock"-looking at all. Almost nobody got it. A few did, and they were absolutely the best.
I bet you heard "why are you ruining perfectly good clothing?"
but that's the fun--transforming it to suit YOU :)
@Minholkin Yes, indeed. And yes, you would win that bet, many times over. 😁👍👍
I love LOVE defying expectations and doing what suits me, particularly with respect to appearance and clothing
