Tonight I'm hosting three movies by director Alex Cox on my Discord server. Normally it'd be called #Scarefest, but I think we'll pivot to calling it #Schlockfest tonight, (although the only really schlocky one of the three is REPO MAN).

@Apocryphiliac Sid & Nancy had a profound effect on me when I watched it in the early 2000's. Back then I drank and would occasionally do some recreational drugs. Watching that movie made me stop
@PaulContento I feel you. Although some of the key people it portrays point out its shortcomings, as a former addict, it speaks to me as an authentic document of the lifestyle, and the warning is certainly clear and poignant.
@PaulContento speaking of which, I know this isn’t what you meant by whitewashed, but this time when I watched it, I noticed that Polystyrene was portrayed as a white woman. 😳
@Apocryphiliac it's definitely white washed slightly but as is serves as an effective cautionary tale.
