While the cost of & comes down fast, the cost of new generation skyrockets. Building new nuclear plants is prohibitively expensive.
[EXISTING nuclear plants are a VERY different issue. We should run them as long as they're safe.]

I would rather live right next door to a nuclear power plant, than have an oil, or gas well anywhere in my county.

@corlin - I agree! My post was about the cost to build a nuclear plant (and there's the even bigger cost to decommission one at end-of-life.)

Stop trying to build huge light water, reactor power plants.
Invest in small, cheap, safe, modular, salt reactors, perhaps using thorium.
Place them on site of large industrial plants, like concrete, steel.
