I have a theory that the American economy is extremely easy to game, particularly by wealthy right-wingers who have hefty levers that can improve or crater the sitting President's approval ratings at will. They used their capabilities to prop up Trump. They're now using them to sink Biden.

@kel You're correct, but it's the global economy they're gaming. The aim is to undermine democracies everywhere, particularly social democratic states. Democracy is just too expensive—all those inconvenient rights and public services. Feudalism under fascism is much cheaper. This category of capitalist is gluttonous and cannibalistic. All that push to run governments "like a business" is a clear declaration. Businesses are inherently dictatorships. There should be no profit in the common good.
