Just got doorstepped by a guy claiming that we are paying too much for electricity and other utilities. He wanted to see our electricity bill. He flat out denied he was trying to sell something (which in my world means that he was).
Has anybody had a doorstepper try something like this?

A lot of it is trying to sell you something.
A lot of it is gathering lists of people to sell to other people who want to sell you something.
But given that all our social security numbers are now public, I am wondering if the amount of our last utility bill is going to be used as a form of 2-factor identification.
