I see a lot of people on the bird app vowing to stay and fight. I get where they're coming from. We built a lot of communities over there. But the internet's primary virtue is that it can route around damage and remain intact. Route around Elmo and his peons. We gain nothing by wrestling a pig in its own mud puddle.
I am astounded by how many people don’t understand that. I had a large account and was called coward (and other names) for leaving.
Many are still there still wrestling pigs to no avail.
My only regret is not leaving sooner. I am ashamed of who I had become.
The reason people are reacting that way is they are afraid of change. You leaving the 🐦 app forces them to look at themselves & their digital surroundings.
"Stay and fight" they say.
"Fight mentally unstable people?.... No thank you! I'm protecting myself first by leaving"
@AbelUndercity Am slowly removing my follows on the bird. I am hoping that my contractual obligations recognize I have no follows, I follow no one except them and will let me go gracefully.
