@AuntCrabby It's all good. 😉
One of the things I think about often is how the fascists are always working to divide us. Terms like "MAGAts" come from places of necessary derision, but they're one of those things that innately help them.
That's my soapbox talking though. I've been very thankful for your perspectives here. 👍
@indigo360 @kel @AuntCrabby I don't think deplorables was a negative to anyone who earned that tag. The misogyny factor cost HRC votes. She would have been hammered by Trumpers and their media regardless. Dems just need to focus on messaging for their own voters. We don't really rally around insults.
@kel @indigo360 @AuntCrabby Yes, I see the point. But our base was complacent after Obama's eight years. It happened after Clinton, too. Granted, I think we won that election, too, and denying Gore empowered the more nefarious right-wing tacticians who hammered HRC (with popular media's encouragement).
We are up against GOP generalizations now. The big message to counter is the "tough on crime" line. The GOP pulls it out every October. We need to point out how they profit from prisons.
@AJPENNYFARTHING Everyone right of center took that comment personally, so I can't imagine it helped. As close as 2016 was, it was not an insignificant factor.
Nuance matters. We don't need to embellish how terrible fascism is for America, and if we can be specific, then we'll find broader agreement about the dangers they pose to all that we hold dear, imho.
