PETE ROSE played baseball for the Reds, played at cherry pits with Satan, and died at home last night at 83, and there went another vote for the republicans. That's pretty much all I know about baseball. They say he applied himself to the rudiments of the game with a homicidal ardor that children in schools are taught to find commendable.
