@NorthernInvader I have lived in both Edmonton and Calgary, though not in many years. It will take a generation to wean Alberta off of its oil addiction, no doubt. But I am surprised to hear that they do not favor Eavor technology. This brings up my favorite talking point for the crowd: The O&G guys have to be our friends, not our enemies. All the and heat we will ever need is in the ground beneath our feet: they are the ones who know how to get at it.

@NorthernInvader You sent me down the borehole, so to speak. I get it now. They use magnetic tracking to connect boreholes at depth, and then chemically turn the bores into impermeable tubes. They don't use tubing, like surface based residential geo-exchange systems. The bore-holes become the tubes. Pretty nifty!

@MaggotBrain Conservative hate 15 min cities because the fossil-fuel industry told them to hate them.

@cjtownsend @WayneEdH Could taco pants have some incriminating knowledge, and could his defection signal an agreement with prosecutors?

@LiberalLibrarian I would love to be a juror in one of these Trump trials... I think I just ruled myself out thought... 🤷‍♂️

@AskTheDevil They argue for a reduction in population growth, among other things, and ask:

I can answer! Three groups: 1) corporations, beholden to shareholders, 2) the rich, immunized from the effects of climate change by vast wealth, and 3) the GOP who's need to keep women uneducated aligns with their institutional, small-dick misogyny.

@NorthernInvader I would not have thought that you could pull off closed-loop geo that deep... I'd love to know how they tie up their deep-Earth manifold.

@Spagesgallo1 @MindfulWilliam The Farm Bill and the IRA are the first and second largest pieces of climate legislation ever passed by the US: remarkable given the political polarization and narrow split of the house and senate.

@NorthernInvader There are several startups engaged in generating zero-carbon concrete. My favorite is <sublime-systems.com>. They not only use silica-based material rather than limestone, they don't use heat in the manufacture process (where a lot of concrete's footprint comes from.)

@Alfred How would you respond to the assertion: “AI is just sophisticated curve fitting.”

@mikeharmanos This is basically Predictit, but without the bucks and giggles!

@TheRealDoggur I don't know whether this photo is real or not, BUT there are signs that this is AI generated. Look, for example, at the gazes of the three non-primaries. None of them are watching the handshake or faces of the principals. Their facial expressions are also not aligned with the photo content.

@realJanet imagine what the world would be like if all those people lived 20% longer. That reality is close. It is gonna get crazy out there.

@ToolPackinMama It's like lifting a rock in the woods... you know all kinds of creepy-crawlies will scurry away from the light. The question Floridians need to ask themselves is: Am I happy that creepy-crawlies were controlling the disbursement of taxpayer dollars?

@NorthernInvader These guys totally get it. Too many activists hate oil and gas so much that they are blind to how essential that industry will be to a clean energy transition. Those O&G companies that embrace this transition will thrive. Those that don't make this commitment should be shunned.

@LiberalLibrarian Follow up: Which other Die Hard movies are Christmas movies?

Dinner tonight: Slow-roasted bone-in Boston butt with Yorkshire pudding, asparagus, roasted carrots and parsnips, and homemade apple pie. Been at it since 10 AM this morning...
