My sister-in-law invited me to join her for her Solstice ritual. Her tradition and practices are different from mine, and it meant a lot to me to be invited to share that with her. #CoSoPagans
@WILDKATZ Let us know what's going on when you can.
Don't forget to breathe! I've seen it happen to people. Really...inhale, exhale.

@Thestia I can do the being super kind to myself. Unfortunately, the lack of being able to take walks in sunshine is part of what does it to me. But, yes, I know I can do this. It happens every year...and I'm always still here the next year.
@Museek Oh. My. Noodles.
That is just... I cannot...
Sometimes I don't know whether to be angry, or to be thankful that someone is so blessed that they have no real clue what they're saying. But with his influence? Maybe both, because definitely angry.
@sumpnlikefaith Yes. I absolutely believe apropriation does harm and we should be careful, but as you pointed out about food, not everything that crosses the cultural lines is being apropriated.
@JuicySonicMagic Because the root word is Greek, and the Romans didn't like how the Greek ph was pronounced and turned it into an f sound.
@Nerdsleaze It's getting easier for me with more creators adding subtitles to videos. They're always on for the tv.
@Jack_Riddle I'm thinking of all the people I've known who proudly identified as a single issue voter and then said what their single issue was...yeah, you're right.
@Nerdsleaze I don't do audio books. I have a hearing problem and delayed auditory processing. I don't even like watching videos for things.
I realized I read more with Kindle because there's always a library in my pocket. I can even read in the dark. But physical books are my love! When I fall deeply in love with a book through Kindle, I go back and buy a physical copy.
@sumpnlikefaith That's when things from different cultures just naturally blend together. Not because of appropriation, but just the result of sharing, being neighbors, and adapting what's new for you to what you're already familiar with.
@sumpnlikefaith Cultural appropriation is real, and so is cultural syncretism. I'm glad people are learning to be more careful of the appropriation, but I'm afraid we may be forgetting about syncretism.
@th3j35t3r I'm betting you didn't get this far by processing words hard, but holy crap I hope you have good self-care practices! Nobody should have that bs thrown at them.
