With many actions and inactions culminating in the shutdown, GOP seems intent on crashing the US economy, confident voters will be too stupid to see they did it and blame Biden instead. The media will be too inept to tell them. MAGA media will show the propaganda. It's a most cynical bet with America as the stakes.

I've never worked for the government, but in past jobs worked with civil servants for the Navy, NASA, and Department of Energy. There were some who fit the stereotype of entitled slacker drawing the pay while doing little. Just a few. There were at least as many of those among the private companies where I worked. There were more govt workers who accepted sub par salaries because they wanted to make a positive difference for their country.
