@thewebrecluse Maybe I already told you my story from the 70's when the factory workers were telling racist stories; all Blacks were lazy, unreliable, dishonest. I asked, what about Leon? Our Black colleague was away that day. No! Not him!! What about... <list of other Blacks>. No not them, they're great people.
So what you're saying is that all Blacks are lazy, unreliable, and dishonest except for every single Black person you know.

@walterbays I think many people kind of do this ... I know I do it ... there are particular groups of people that I have CONSISTENTLY had bad experiences with ... 99.9% of the time and that has yet to change. Have I met people in this group that I have good experiences with ... maybe once or twice ... but that's not going to cause me to rethink my entire experience with that group because again, the majority of my experiences are horrendous. I hope for the best but usually plan for the worst.
@walterbays When that 99.9% changes to something like ... I dunno ... less than 50% ... MAYBE I might rethink my overall opinion of said group. But I'm 50+ and that statistic hasn't changed so ... I'll hold to my expectations of that group as probably going to be mostly negative.
@walterbays When it comes to white folks and their racism ... they have ... EXCEPTIONS and they have ACCEPTABLE people in any culture. But those people become a new unique category of people ... an offshoot of the culture/race/etc that they are prejudiced against.
White folks never think that maybe they need to broaden their understanding of Black people - or anyone else - as a whole ... they would rather keep their racist beliefs and make "exceptions" for those who don't fit them.
