Why do I look askance at the Bernie left? Because it thinks that economics trumps all, and if the Democrats had an economic plan which appealed to #MAGA, all would be good. That's a mug's game. MAGA doesn't care about economics. They care about blood and soil. They care about sticking it to the "Other". The Bernie left is living in cloud cuckoo land. And its denigration of identity politics is a tell.

@walterbays It's also why Marxism is bullshit. It thinks that all of human interactions can be condensed to economics. The almost-200-years since the Communist Manifesto should have put paid to that fallacy.
