It might only be me, but I hate when I want follow a link someone has shared only to find that the article is behind a paywall.

So, I don't read your articles if they're from The New York Times, RawStory, and so on.

I get why they're behind paywalls, I really do and I don't blame them for doing it. But if they weren't a site I read before they went behind a paywall, or didn't subscribe to in the first place (I HATE the New York Times for its East Coast bias), I'm not going to subscribe now.

@Animeraider Fair point - perhaps you could ask people you follow to share a "gift link" to the article? I do that when I share Washington Post articles.
