I'm covering Chapter 6 and 7 now, two of my favorite chapters that significantly shift the focus into "What The Absolute Fuck" territory for the first time.
I'm lamenting even further about the loss of the deeper themes of the story in all the modern adaptations. It is truly a story about loyalty, male friendships, and navigating relationships involving addiction and/or mental illness.
But no one actually cares.

This video goes into depth about how the story mirrors so much of the reality of addiction spirals, dealing with the breakdown of friendships, and trying to find your role in a relationship with a friend who has descended into a dark and downward spiral.
Adaptions only ever focus on the character of Henry Jekyll - a selfish, mentally ill addict - and ignore the real victims.
