@thewebrecluse for real! I never understood why it was in November.
@thewebrecluse I will no longer be participating until the contest is restricted to participation by sentient or at least semi-sentient beings.
@AskTheDevil I participated twice ... but I don't write well under those kinds of situations. Some people do, but that kind of pressure isn't for me. Writing is an act of will for me and I will either do it when I can according to my health concerns and pain issues or I won't ... I don't get motivated by outside things or "competitions" or tracking words etc. That just has never been for me.
@thewebrecluse The one novel I ever completed, I did through Nano, and it was so horrible I was semi-traumatized and didn't write again for years. I couldn't even believe it came out of me.
@AskTheDevil The most progress I ever made on my novel was after surgery and I was pain free for almost a whole year for the first time in my life and I stopped caring about how MUCH I was getting done every day and just focused on writing at my own pace and loving the work, not the word count. ❤️ You gotta do what is best for you.
@thewebrecluse Good advice - as usual! : )
🖤
@thewebrecluse Having some experience with Large Language Model technology, I can best describe it as a lossy compression algorithm. There is no "understanding" or "intelligence" involved. It just returns what it was trained upon with some mixing and loss of fidelity. Some of the algorithms also incorporate entropy (randomness) to mix the output even more. Generative AI that was trained on people's copyrighted works is theft, plain and simple.
@Spartan yes WE all know that. It's everyone else that seems to be completely stupid or simply blinded by greed or both 🤣
We're stepping down as a NaNoWriMo sponsor. Here's
